Oh, now that's interesting - I hadn't thought about the fact that to anyone on the outside, someone going into the computer would look like death. If I remember correctly in the episode, the Doctor didn't react negatively to Donna disappearing. That's a poor characterization, actually. He should have either thought she was dead and gotten angry/inconsolable or had figured out immediately from "Donna Noble has left the library; Donna Noble has been saved" what that all really meant. Eh, I chalk that up to Moffat's poor characterizations and the fact that he was obviously trying to drum up the audience's interest in River, as opposed to develop the characters we already had.

You should never say what your concepts are! The suspense is more fun for us! :D
